Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Prolific children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.
A representative for the firm commented: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the move was reached following an review of reports of questionable actions towards women.
The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."
A Prolific Literary Career
Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
A number of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.
He has published in excess of 40 works altogether, which features a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.
This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
